  • Always use WeddingClosetHub's payment system: Never pay outside the platform
  • Avoid wire transfers: Never use Western Union, MoneyGram, or direct bank transfers
  • Don't use PayPal Friends & Family: This option doesn't offer buyer protection
  • Verify before paying: Ensure you're paying the correct amount for the correct item
  • Keep records: Save all payment confirmations and receipts
  • Report suspicious requests: Contact support if asked for unusual payments

By following these guidelines, you ensure your transactions are protected by our buyer/seller protection policies.

What buyer/seller protection is available to me?

Buyer Protection:

When you pay through WeddingClosetHub, you're covered for up to $20,000 if:

  • The item is significantly different from the description
  • The item arrives damaged
  • The item is counterfeit
  • The item never arrives

Seller Protection:

PayPal Seller Protection covers eligible transactions when:

  • A buyer claims the transaction was unauthorized
  • A buyer claims they didn't receive the item (with valid tracking)

Not covered: Change of mind, sizing issues, and in-person transactions.

What can I do if someone asks for payments outside of WCH?

Never make payments outside of WeddingClosetHub.

If someone requests off-platform payment:

  1. Politely decline and remind them payments must go through WCH
  2. Do not share any personal payment information
  3. Report the user to our support team immediately
  4. Do not proceed with the transaction

Off-platform payments are not covered by our buyer/seller protection. Legitimate sellers understand and respect this rule.

What happens if the seller asks for more money before delivery?

Requests for additional payment after completing a transaction are a major red flag.

What to do:

  • Do not send additional money - The agreed price should include everything
  • Contact our support team immediately
  • Keep all communication records as evidence
  • Do not accept excuses like "shipping cost increase" or "customs fees"

All costs should be agreed upon before purchase. Any requests for extra payments may indicate fraudulent behavior and should be reported.

What is buyer/seller protection and how does it work?

Buyer/Seller Protection is a safety net that covers transactions made through WeddingClosetHub's secure payment system.

How Buyer Protection Works:

  1. Make your purchase through WeddingClosetHub
  2. If an issue arises (item not received, significantly different, damaged), file a claim
  3. Provide evidence and documentation
  4. Our team investigates and resolves the dispute
  5. If eligible, you receive a refund up to $20,000

How Seller Protection Works:

  1. Ship items with tracking and delivery confirmation
  2. If a buyer claims non-receipt or unauthorized transaction
  3. PayPal investigates with your tracking evidence
  4. If eligible, you keep your payment with no chargeback fees

What is the seller transaction fee?

The seller transaction fee refers to the charges applied when receiving payments through PayPal.

PayPal Transaction Fees:

  • Domestic transactions: Typically 2.6% - 2.9% + fixed fee
  • International transactions: Typically 3.6% - 3.9% + fixed fee

Example: For a $100 payment with 2.9% + $0.30 fee:

  • Fee: $2.90 + $0.30 = $3.20
  • You receive: $96.80

WeddingClosetHub Fees:

  • One-time listing fee (paid upfront)
  • 3% commission on sales

Factor these fees into your pricing strategy when setting your listing price.

What is the return policy?

Return policies vary by seller. Each listing should specify the seller's return terms.

General Guidelines:

  • Many pre-loved items are sold as "final sale" with no returns
  • Some sellers accept returns within a specified timeframe
  • Return shipping is typically the buyer's responsibility
  • Items must be returned in original condition

Buyer Protection Still Applies:

Even with a no-return policy, you're protected if:

  • Item is significantly different from description
  • Item arrives damaged
  • Item doesn't arrive at all

Always review the seller's return policy before purchasing.

What payment methods are available on WCH?

WeddingClosetHub offers secure payment options:

Accepted Methods:

  • PayPal: Our primary payment method with full buyer/seller protection
  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express (processed through PayPal)

Important Notes:

  • All payments must go through WeddingClosetHub's system
  • Never use PayPal "Friends & Family" - no buyer protection
  • Avoid wire transfers, money orders, or gift cards
  • Bank transfers are not recommended due to lack of protection

Using our secure payment system ensures you're covered by buyer/seller protection.

Why can't I request payments?

If you're unable to request payments, it could be due to several reasons:

  • Incomplete account setup: Ensure your PayPal account is verified and linked
  • Account restrictions: Your account may have limitations that need to be resolved

Why is my payment on hold?

PayPal may place payments on hold for several reasons:

Common reasons for holds:

  • New seller account: PayPal holds funds for new or infrequent sellers
  • High-value transaction: Large transactions may trigger security holds
  • Account activity changes: Unusual selling patterns can cause holds
  • Buyer protection period: Funds held until delivery is confirmed

How to release funds faster:

  • Add tracking information to your shipment
  • Get delivery confirmation
  • Build your seller history with positive feedback
  • Verify your PayPal account completely

Holds typically release within 21 days or when delivery is confirmed. Contact PayPal directly for specific hold questions.

Why stay on platform:

  • Fraud monitoring: We actively monitor for suspicious activity
  • Evidence for disputes: On-platform messages serve as proof if issues arise
  • Buyer/seller protection: Off-platform communications aren't covered
  • Quick support: Our team can assist immediately when conversations are on platform

Risks of off-platform communication:

  • No record if disputes occur
  • Easier for scammers to operate
  • No protection from our support team
  • Payments requested off-platform are never covered

How do I fix a PayPal error?

If you're experiencing PayPal errors, try these solutions:

Common fixes:

  3. Check PayPal account status: Log into PayPal and resolve any account issues
